Problem Retrieving Files From Old Hard Drive

The USB is not recognized at all. I’ve googled this and the results said that this will wipe the hard drive, which is obviously not what I want to do. And this rig worked fine in XP. Port connects directly to an esata connector on a Gigabyte mobo.
The hard drive was brand new and with this It could be read by Windows. Do you have any idea?
